Bella Bride: Jessica & Phillip

As seen in the Fall 2009 issue of D Weddings, this bride & groom share this personal touch that made their special day all the more unique.

“My husband is the youth pastor at Highland Park United Methodist Church and knows a painter named Josh Widener who did some paintings for the youth department. We decided we wanted to use him in the wedding but weren’t exactly sure how. He ended up painting two 6-foot canvases during the ceremony in just 20 minutes. The paintings are of two hands put together, which signifies two families becoming one.”

A winter wedding just days before Christmas, the color theme was perfectly coordinated with the season: ivory & black with accents of crimson cranberry!

The ceremony took place at Perkins Chapel – one of the most sought-after ceremony sites in Dallas.

At the entrance into the aisle were two large arrangements of rich red tone floral – connected by willow branches to look like an arch…

Football on a wedding day? Of course.

Beautiful detail shots:

The bride changed out of her gown as the music started going at the reception, which was at The Starlight Room in Dallas' historic West End.

Each table had these ilex berries, inspired by the season!
...even on the groom's cake - yum!

The cake was adorned with crystals lining the base of each tier, which also had the French fleur-de-lis symbol. A garland of deep red flora also embedded the base to create a deep contrast against the white cake.

Bella Bride: Whitney & Carlos

Have you picked up the latest issue of D Weddings yet? If you have, you’ll notice Whitney & Carlos on the first two pages of the Real Weddings section! But if you haven’t, or if you want to see more pictures from their big day, we hope you enjoy our feature on this Bella Bride!

This wedding was held at the bride’s parents’ Burleson ranch back in November of 2008. It was full of lavish shades of raspberries, plums, lavenders, and orchids combined with a touch of chartreuse, ivory, and even metallic. A stylish mix!

White flora and accents of soft pink composed the beautiful bouquet for a fresh look to accompany her Elizabeth Fillmore gown – which had gardenia accents along the bodice!

From the home’s main gate entry to the tent where the reception was held, there was not one scenery or landscape without some sort of floral or decor!

Guests were welcomed at the entry gates with circular discs completely embedded with chunky mosses and a monogram made of orchid blossoms.

Ivory luminaries lighted the path to the bridge… where pretty floral arrangements were elevated atop iron markers planted in the ground… and then more luminaries led the guests into the ceremony area.

The trees were also adorned with suspended displays of candlelight and mini chandeliers of varying types and sizes. Eventually, guests were led to two tall towering trees near the home’s front door for the ceremony.

The boys & girls...

Mr. & Mrs. Lopez!

The reception followed in a tent, designed towards a fashionable and chic look with low lying centerpieces and ornate crystal chandeliers.

The cake was placed on a simple Lucite table, so not to take away from the exquisite details...

…and the groom’s cake coordinated beautifully atop the custom smoky mirrored table.

Lounging outside the tent...

...fully equipped with a candy bar!

Squeezing in a few last detail shots!

Bella Bride: Stephanie & Ulises

Bella Flora is published in the Knot! Check out Stephanie & Ulises's feature in the Real Weddings section of the Knot [Real Weddings - Stephanie & Ulises: A Traditional Wedding in Dallas, TX Shared via AddThis] - or stay here and see the amazing pictures below!

These two barely talked during high school, but Ulises finally made his move several years later.. and last September they got married at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. The ceremony was traditional with just a few decorations. Votive candles lit the aisle to the altar, with glass bulb vases filled with orchids, hydrangeas and rose paves on each side.

The bride wanted everything to be personalized...

She gave each bridesmaid a different cross to be wrapped around their bouquet.

Each bridesmaid was allowed to pick out her own long black dress.

Stephanie wanted to put in some personal work herself, so she made the name cards and the party favors. She filled cubed vases with baby's breath, tied with black ribbon and stamped with the couple's monogram. Imagine doing all that the night before your wedding!

The reception took place at the W Dallas-Victory. Lighting was so key to the ballroom - it created such a stunning ambience!

We loved the bride's vision of wanting a modern look, especially with the black and white patterns! The centerpieces were a mixture of votives in varying heights and square vases filled with hydrangeas. The table runner was one of our favorite pieces - it matched the couple's monogram theme so well!

The perfect touch to complete their mod, black and white look? Bride & groom cakes with an edible version of their monogram!
